Perhaps there is a chance we'll see some action on the DREAM Act in 2011 albeit with some major tough to accept changes. The key areas likely to change are the education requirement (mandating actually receiving a degree versus simply attending school), the ability to sponsor relatives down the road when DREAM Act finally become citizens (at least 13 years out) and criminal bars on applying.

When we file 485 AOS along with EAD & APL, these are three seperate forms, so we get three seperate receipt numbers?
is that correct?
What abt 485 for wife? is that also another receipt notice?

Apparently there are people who file for I-485 and I140 without labor approval.
I don't know how many people did this, but I heard there are cases of this kind.
What is the validity of this information? If it is valid, what are the risks?
The person who informed me went further explaining the procedure. He said that one needs to just file and wait for further documentation request from CIS. Upon labor approval complete documentation is presented to CIS.
Experienced souls, please advise.

The May 20, 2009 Memo from Barbara Velarde, Chief of USCIS Service Center Operations, (Velarde Memo or Memo) provides some important guidance to adjudicators on the requirements for H-1B beneficiaries seeking to practice in certain health care occupations, which is of significant import to occupational therapists ("OTs") and physical therapists ("PTs"). The crux of this guidance is as follows: advanced degrees are not required for health care professionals enumerated under 8 CFR 212.15(c) (including OT and PT candidates) applying for the H-1B nonimmigrant visa classificationthereby reversing a recent trend of USICS in denying H-1Bs for OTs and PTs who do...

Pls help me answer this question
I am one of the July filers, have EAD and applied for I485 EB3, Dec 2003 India. My H-1 And GC are both based on the job title- Systems Programmer/ Network Admin. I wanted to apply for a position in the university - Lab Director- Electrical & Computer Engineering. My question is :
1) Since not all the job responsibilities will be same in the new job (if i get it). but some ofthe requirements will be the same.
[like setting up the network, little programming devices etc.]
2) Can I apply for EB-2 with the university and later port my date- Eb3 to EB2
Pls let me know at your earliest convenience
Thanks

I am not anti-Sigma either, but I do not believe anything the produce from a digital body perspective (no pun intended) is going to influence, or drive down Canon or Nikon pro body prices. Build quality and other features keep the C and N scads ahead.
